Katie Linnane, from Pearl River, NY, grew up surrounded by music in her childhood home, the
venue for her mother, Kathy’s music school. She studied for many years with fiddle great, Willie Kelly and it is through Willie that Katie cultivated an affinity for Clare music and developed a keen ear for great repertoire. Katie is immersed in New York City’s thriving Irish music scene where she ran two well known weekly sessions at Swift’s Hibernian Lounge and Ulysses for some years. In demand as a teacher and performer across the tri-state area, Katie has cultivated her style through playing with many of the top performers associated with the North East scene including Mike Rafferty, Patrick Ourceau, Eamon O’Leary, John Morrow, Ivan Goff and Kevin Crawford.

The best looking member of the famed musical Ryan clan from Tipp in Ireland, Donie has been a mainstay in the traditional music circuit in NYC for 20 years. His devil-may-care flamboyant banjo style has him in great demand with musicians and he is a big hit with the fans.

Patrick Mangan – Fiddle

Brooklyn-based fiddler Patrick Mangan made his Broadway debut at age 16 with “Riverdance on Broadway” in 2001 and has since performed with the Grammy award winning Irish dance production and other luminaries of Celtic music in over 30 countries on every continent. 

Recent performance highlights have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Moya Brennan of Clannad, Lincoln Center with “Riverdance” composer Bill Whelan, and frequent appearances on Broadway and on tour with the hit show “Come From Away.” Pat is also a regular featured guest at New York’s most renowned traditional Irish music session spots such as The 11th Street Bar and The Dead Rabbit. 

Growing up in New York, Pat was mentored by some of the most revered fiddlers in the tradition including Brian Conway, Tony DeMarco, Andy McGann, and Paddy Reynolds, amidst a vibrant Irish music community. In addition to his passion for live performance, Pat is a fiddle teacher, recording artist, and award-winning composer. Cillian Vallely

Cillian Vallely

Starting at age 7, Cillian Vallely learned the whistle and uilleann pipes from his parents Brian and Eithne at the Armagh Pipers Club, a group that for over 5 decades has fostered the revival of traditional music in the north of Ireland.  Since 1999, he has been a member of Lúnasa, one of the most acclaimed and influential bands in the recent history of Irish music. With Lúnasa, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, Glastonbury Festival, Womad Aledaide, Edmonton Folk Festival in addition to multiple tours of Asia, Australia, US and Europe.  In recent years, he has also played and recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Natalie Merchant, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Tim O’Brien, Declan O’Rourke and Riverdance in addition to recording as a guest on over 70 albums. His solo album “The Raven’s Rock” was released to great critical acclaim in 2016.

Ivan Goff – uilleann pipes / flute

Ivan is from Dublin and is a member of Irish traditional band Danú. Mick O’Brien is his biggest influence as mentor and regular teacher for several years on both whistle and pipes. Over the years Ivan has performed worldwide in duets and ensembles with many household names of Irish music including Iarla Ó Lionáird, Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh, Martin Hayes, Cormac Breatnach, Eileen Ivers BandDervish, and Lúnasa. With credits that range from film and theater to appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Ivan has also performed in several well-known productions such as Riverdance, Sting’s The Last Ship on Broadway, and Come From Away.

The Diddley Idols

The Diddley Idols are the New York based duo with the full band sound. Dave Barckow (Queens, NY) and Louise Barry (Dublin, Ireland).  After a chance encounter in 2012, Dave and Louise’s undeniable chemistry made them inseparable and together they formed “The Diddley Idols” in 2013.

The Diddly Idols bring their own inimicable style of Irish Trad to Trad Week 2021.

Bernadette Fee

Bernadette Fee is a well-known New York fiddler, music teacher and champion Irish step dancer. She studied Irish dancing with Cyril McNiff and music with Maureen Glynn Connolly. She is a veteran performer who is very active in the traditional music circles. She has performed with a variety of Irish artists and bands and has enjoyed playing on cruises, at céilithe, seisiúns and at numerous festivals including: Savannah, GA; Kansas City, MO; Dublin, OH; Milwaukee, WI, and at CIAW in East Durham, NY. She feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to play at the Hollywood Bowl and on GMA. As a member and officer of the P&S Irish Dancing and Music Assoc. of NA, Bernadette has choreographed an award-winning team of dancers and musicians for the NYC Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. She can be heard playing and dancing the “Stack of Barley” in Kevin Ferguson’s The Irish Catskills – Dancing at the Crossroads, a documentary presented on PBS. Currently, she performs weekly at NYC venues.

John Nolan

John Nolan was born & raised in the Bronx section of New York. His first introduction to Irish music was listening to his father playing a Baldoni D/C# box. His first formal training came from John Glynn and later Martin Mulvihill, but he later learned and continues to learn from all musicians through sessions, recordings and close personal friendships.

John started his musical career in the Catskills in the mid 1970’s with the great fiddler Pat Keogh. In August of 1982, he became the first American to win the Senior All-Ireland Champion on both the two-row and three-row button accordions. John has been featured on over a dozen recordings, including two of his own production – “A Taste for the Traditional” and “A Rake of Reels”. Then in 2009, he was inducted into the Comhaltas Hall of Fame. Besides keeping a busy performance schedule, John currently teaches, sells accordions and has developed a tremendous business – “Buttons & Bellows” – tuning and repairing accordions from his home in Rockland County where he lives with his wife Mary, daughter Maura & son Brendan. McManus Irish Dance & Jiggy Tots are a Queens and Manhattan based Irish dance school, registered members of Rince Tuatha Nua (RTN) & affiliated with Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa (CRDM) in Dublin, Ireland.

The qualified and award winning staff of McManus Irish Dance have been the proud recipients of the 2019 Irish Echo, prestigious 40 under 40 award, 2020 Community Champion awards and the NY State Assembly Proclamation of Irish Heritage and Culture. The school’s unique methodology is steeped in traditional step dance with a strong emphasis on performance and building confidence in each of their students. McManus Irish Dance pride themselves on the adherence to the tenet, “innovative tradition” by bringing traditional Irish dance education to a modern world, building strong and confident dancers of any heritage.

Students of the program are a mixture of both successful competitive and recreational, performance based dancers. Allen Gogarty: Irish Singer Songwriter

Allen Gogarty comes from the small village of Kilmainhamwood in County Meath in the Republic of Ireland. 

He has been performing live and recording for the last thirty years and when not on tour resides in New York City. 

He is extremely active on the live music circuit and can be seen performing in numerous venues throughout the New York area on regular basis. He performs  solo, with a full band, in some two and three piece acts or is equally at home at  traditional Irish music sessions. Currently working on his third Solo album, His first two albums “Mindcocoon”, “Creature” and his most recent single release, “Stand Down” are now available on iTunes and most other platforms.
